The people behind

Working together

I don’t work alone.

Most of the projects on this site have been shaped by this team’s ideas, expertise, and work, and continue to grow through their contributions.

Their input is a big part of what makes these projects possible. I want this page to introduce the people behind that shared work and give them the credit they deserve.

The people

Meet the team.

Colleagues I’m grateful to work alongside.

01

Irina

Irina Vázquez-Villaseñor

Neuroscience & preclinical research

Irina is a neuroscientist trained in clinical biochemistry at UDLAP, with an MSc and PhD from the University of Sheffield. Her work spans neuronal damage, neurodegeneration, and preclinical neuromodulation research, including blood–brain barrier modulation for drug delivery.

She’s one of the best scientists I know.

02

Pepe

José Rebollar Olascoaga

Electronics & medical devices

Pepe is an electronics engineer with a master’s degree from CINVESTAV’s Bioelectronics section, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in bioelectronics. His work includes PCB design and control electronics for medical devices and magnetic-coil systems. He also contributed electronics to Public Invention’s open Ferrofluid Pump project.

He’s the guy to call when you need a PCB to work.

03

Diana

Diana Luna Umanzor

Clinical research & psychology

Diana is a clinical psychologist with a master’s in cognitive behavioral therapy. Her background combines clinical research, neuropsychology, and psycholinguistics, including work with UNAM. Her publications examine language and semantic memory in aging and dementia, as well as neuromodulation.

Diana is a strong researcher and, in my view, one of the best clinical psychologists in Mexico. I’d wholeheartedly recommend booking a session with her.

Emilio

Javier Emilio Bazán Sánchez

Computational neuroscience & software

Emilio is a software developer and researcher working across computational neuroscience, machine learning, and mathematical modeling. He is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at UNAM.

He’s one of the most intelligent people I know, and our conversations about life are the best.
